TORONTO - Old work boots collected in several Ontario cities will be dumped at Finance Minister Jim Flaherty's campaign office today in Whitby, Ont.

The boots are part of a Canadian Auto Workers union campaign to defeat Flaherty and the Conservatives in the October 14th election.

CAW president Ken Lewenza says it is critical to Canada's well-being that everything be done to defeat the Conservatives.

Lewenza says Flaherty in particular "has completely ignored the suffering in his own community."

The boots were collected in recent weeks in Windsor, Chatham, Ingersoll, London, Kitchener, Brampton, Toronto and Oshawa.

The CAW says each boot bears a tag signed by the laid off worker.
