Peel Region's latest murder victim is 14-year-old boy who phoned 911 on his cellphone as he lay dying of multiple stab wounds.

The boy -- described as a wonderful son and good student -- was walking home from school Tuesday afternoon when he was attacked by two teenagers.

Police said in a news release Wednesday morning that the boy was walking with friends when he parted ways with them to go home. A short time later, at 3:41 p.m., the victim dialed 911 from his cell phone saying he had been stabbed.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, near Humber West Parkway and Fairlawn Boulevard in Brampton, and located the young man. They rushed victim to a local hospital but medical staff were not able to save him.

The victim has been identified as Brampton resident Ravi Rajiv Dharamdial. Police spokesperson J.P. Valade told CTV.ca the boy was a "model student" and had never been in trouble with the law.

Investigators say that when Dharamdial was last seen by his friends, he was being followed by two male suspects.

Family and friends gathered Wednesday to comfort each other in the wake of the tragedy.

"The mom has been crying non-stop since Tuesday," Namdram Dharamdial, the young man's uncle, told reporters Wednesday.

"Any time you seen him, he smiled. He had a beautiful face. He was into cars, music -- stuff like that."

Friends who came to the Dharamdial home described the victim as funny and nice.

Police have a vague description of the suspects but say that they both look like young teens, between 14 and 16 years of age. One of the men was wearing a brown hoodie, dark jeans, a brown baseball hat with a gold sticker, possibly the "New Era 5950" brand and Air Jordan or Air Force Nike running shoes.

Kosma Rudha, a cousin of the victim, asked the parents of the suspects to turn them into the police. "You know what? What if it was them kids that got stabbed? How would they feel?"

Dharamdial is the region's 24th murder victim of the year. Last year, Peel reported just 17 murders.
