TORONTO - A 16-year-old Toronto boy faces 11 charges in a shooting incident that resulted in a school lockdown last Thursday.

Investigators say there was an altercation between a boy and a group of men in a van on the west side of Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute.

Police say the boy approached the vehicle and fired a shot, then fled the area.

One of the men seated in the van suffered minor injuries.

The school was placed in lockdown mode for a few hours while police searched the grounds for a weapon and the suspect.

A boy was arrested on Sunday and faces charges that include attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon and careless use of a firearm.
