A well-known Ontario philanthropist passed away Sunday.

Beryl Ivey, an avid supporter of education, health care and the arts, died of a heart attack at age 82.

She was just three days shy of her 83rd birthday.

She and her husband took control of the Ivey Foundation and managed to donate about $150 million to various causes.

The business school at London's University of Western Ontario bears the Ivey name.

Ivey and her husband Dick spent most of their married life in London, Ont. but recently moved to Toronto.
