WELLAND, Ont. - Niagara regional police arrested a 43-year-old baseball coach from Welland, Ont., today on sex assault charges.
But police did not specify whether the 14-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted was in any way connected to the team the suspect coaches.
Officers with a search warrant made the arrest at a Welland residence early this morning.
Rene Racicot, 43, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and making child pornography.
He was due in court today in St. Catharines.
Police say Racicot is a coach with the Welland Minor Baseball Association.
