The forensic testing on human remains found over the past two weeks in cottage country won't be completed for at least another week.

"As a result, the identity of the victim of this homicide remains unconfirmed," the OPP said Friday in a news release.

The body parts have been found in different areas. The first set were found by an individual walking in Oro-Medonte township near Barrie on May 22.

That same day, another person found remains in the Lake of Bays Township, which is a two-hour drive north.

On May 28, a third set of remains were found between Bracebridge and Baysville on the shoulder of a road.

Police say they still don't have all the parts of the deceased's body.

"The OPP is again asking the public to contact them immediately if they come across anything that appears to be out of place or peculiar to the setting to which it may have been located in," they said.

People with information are asked to contact the OPP at -888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
