An autopsy has confirmed that homicide victim Laura Rios died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Toronto Police have said they believe the city's 58th homicide victim of 2009 was targeted, but they don't know why.

They have only a vague description of a suspect.

"Investigators are continuing to try to identify a man seen leaving the area in a dark-coloured vehicle with a loud muffler. He was wearing a navy-blue sweat top and grey sweatpants," Toronto Police said Wednesday in a news release.

Police have said the 45-year-old got out of her pickup truck in the parking area of her 2130 Weston Rd. condo building and was gathering belongings when someone shot her.

Rios's two-year-old daughter was still strapped into her car seat.

Police received the call at about 8:45 p.m. on Monday. When they got there, Rios was dead, her body lying behind her truck.

One area residents reported hearing five or six shots.

There were security cameras in the area, but investigators say it will take some time to review the images.
