The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fourth set of suspicious fires this month after several automobiles and a garage were set ablaze in the early hours of the morning.

The Toronto Fire Department was called to Ardagh Street, near Jane Street and Bloor Street West, at around 3:30 a.m. and to another location on the same street at around 4:00 a.m.

Two vehicles were found on fire and one garage, all within the same neighbourhood.

Police say a small garbage fire was first set in a laneway as a distraction.

"Right now as far as any linkages are concerned, from last night's fire, we believe there is a link between the fires within the 11 division," Det. Sgt. Reuben Stroble told CTV News on Tuesday.

"With their proximity and the time frame within each one, they are very similar."

Victoria Montgomery believes her Audi was deliberately torched. Springs and chair frames were the only recognizable items that remained inside the charred vehicle.

"How ignorant for someone to do this. It had to be done by something or someone. What do they think they are accomplishing? The flames were so overwhelming," Montgomery told CTV News.

Only blocks away, a garage fire destroyed a Toyota Corolla and numerous personal items that were stored in the building.

A propane tank, believed to have been used to fuel the fire, remains lodged in the blackened frame of the vehicle.

A Mazda SUV was also set ablaze a few blocks away.

Neighbours in the area told CTV News they concerned for their safety after the night's events.

"Well, it's very disturbing to see this happen. There are a few of them in the neighbourhood and you just wonder who is going to be next," one resident told CTV on Tuesday.

Police would not comment whether the most recent fires were related to a series of blazes that took place earlier in the month.

Authorities continue to investigate a blaze in the Christie-Pitts neighbourhood on July 2 and a series of fires in Cabbagetown on July 10.

A million-dollar mansion was also destroyed by fire on July 11.

No suspects have been apprehended in connection with any of the fires.
