COBOURG, Ont. - Police have made an arrest in the death of a 29-year-old woman in Cobourg, Ont., after nearly a year of investigation.

The body of Rachel Russell was found on Nov. 12, 2007, near a railway line in Cobourg.

The cause of death was determined to be blunt-force trauma.

Wayne Ryman, 44, of Cobourg, is charged with second-degree murder.

Ryman was to appear Wednesday in provincial court in Cobourg.

The investigation was a joint effort of provincial and Cobourg police.
