Toronto police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting death at a Scarborough highrise apartment last week.
Police responded to 1021 Birchmount Rd. on Jan. 5. That location is just north of Eglinton Avenue East.
They found 27-year-old Venacio Julien suffering from gunshot wounds in the first-floor hallway.
He would die in hospital, making him the second homicide victim of 2011 in Toronto.
In a news release issued Wednesday, police said they arrested Selvon Byers, 18 of Toronto on Tuesday and charged him with second-degree murder.
Byers was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
No allegations against Byers have been proven in a court of law.
