HAMILTON - In the wake of rising fuel costs, Air Canada Jazz says it's closing its Hamilton operation this summer.

The regional airline is cutting its 10 daily flights from Hamilton to Montreal and Ottawa.

A spokesman for the city's airport expects other carriers will fill the void.

West Jet is the airport's largest carrier.

Air Canada Jazz expects to make the move -- which will affect 14 customer service agents -- at the end of July.

National carrier Air Canada announced earlier this week it will cut 2,000 jobs and cut its overall capacity by seven per cent.
