Seven children were transported to two hospitals with minor injuries after a truck struck a school bus near Newmarket, Ont.

Paramedics told CTV Barrie that the children suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a school bus and a tractor trailer collided at Highway 27 and Eighth Line at about 8:20 a.m.

The children were reportedly sent to either Southlake Hospital or Stephenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston, Ont.

Anyone who felt they had been hurt in the incident was sent to either hospital as a precaution, EMS officials said.

The school bus was headed to two different schools in Bradford, Ont., said a Simcoe police spokesperson. He said there were 30 students on board at the time of the crash.

Traffic was temporarily delayed due to the incident but there have been no road closures.
