The CTVToronto.ca news team sent each of the four major party leaders a list of 20 questions in an effort to help you, the voter, get to know them better. We asked about their favourite foods, their celebrity crushes and which of Ontario's NHL teams they support. Here is what NDP Leader Andrea Horwath had to say:
What is your middle name? Lynne
Do you have a nickname? Mom
Which politician, living or dead, do you most identify with and why? Agnes McPhail, woman, trailblazer and FYI the only bust (sculpture) of a woman at Queen's Park.
Who is the love of your life? My son
What was your first job? Short-order cook
What is your favourite movie? Can't name a fave. Movies take me away. I don't over-analyze them, otherwise it defeats the purpose for me.
What was the last book you read? The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson
What is your favourite comfort food? Carbs...any carbs will do.
How do you like to unwind from a busy day? Making a meal, watching the news and chatting with family and/or friends.
What is your hidden talent? None, nada, zilch
Who is your celebrity crush? Brad Pitt
What profession would you most like to try and why? Chef or baker. I love cooking and baking.
What is your favourite app? Twitter
Cats or dogs? It was cats until I was 30 and pregnant. Dogs ever since...it's all unconditional love! With cats it's a little more conditional.
The Beatles or the Rolling Stones? STONES
Coffee or tea? Green tea. I gave up coffee during the NDP leadership campaign in 2009. Now I have the odd cappuccino or espresso as a treat only.
Beer or wine? Wine... get ready... white wine! And proud of those delicious Ontario whites!
Three downs or four? Really? Oskee Wee Wee!! Or should I say, "Oskee Three Three."
Senators or Maple Leafs? Must I choose? I won't. How about the Hamilton Bulldogs? (Wrong league, I know.)
Who would play you in a movie of your life? An obscure but talented actor, yet to be named, should such a movie ever warrant production.
