Environment Canada confirmed the 13th tornado of the year touched down in Ontario on Tuesday, in the northwestern community of Grassy Narrows First Nation.

The weather agency spoke to witnesses, examined photos and evaluated the damage done to the community and determined that the storm that hit the area on Aug. 5 was a tornado.

The tornado has been rated on the Enhanced Fujita scale at 0, meaning winds were as high as 130 km/h.
