A funeral was held this weekend for a Toronto youth pastor who died in an accident earlier this month.

The day before Stephen Spencer, 25, was killed, he wrote down goals for himself, according to an obituary. He wanted to “be a good father/husband, have a Ministry that encourages people to follow God,” and “make awesome music.”

Spencer died in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 4, when he touched a live wire while he and two friends explored the roof of an abandoned building at 1061 The Queensway, between Islington and Kipling Avenues.

Spencer worked at the Islington Baptist Church, where he wrote down the goals hours before his death, as part of an exercise while leading a youth group.

He was memorialized on Saturday at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Etobicoke.
