Two people have been rushed to hospital, one in serious condition, after an early-morning collision in Scarborough.

It happened near Danforth Road and Falmouth Avenue at around 7 a.m.

Toronto Fire says that three vehicles were involved in the crash with one person in each vehicle.

The victim who sustained serious injuries was initially trapped in one of the vehicles and had to be freed by emergency crews.

“This was a very difficult extrication,” District Chief Al Faulkner told CP24 at the scene. “This car was completely collapsed in the front onto the patient and it took us 30 minutes to get her out.”

Danforth Road is closed between Falmouth and Winter avenues as police probe the cause of the collision.
