Every member of Ontario's provincial parliament donned a purple scarf on Tuesday morning as part of a campaign supporting women who suffer from abuse.

CTV Toronto's Paul Bliss reported that each MPP in attendance at Queen's Park wore a purple scarf to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

During the month of November, the Wrapped in Courage campaign encourages Ontario residents to show abused women and their children that they have the support of the community by wearing a purple scarf.

MPPs also voted unanimously to participate in the White Ribbon Campaign, organized by men working to end men's violence against women.
