Almost every major institution in Toronto and the GTA will be shut down on Good Friday.
• Government offices
• Public libraries
• The TSX
• LCBO and Beer Store outlets
• Most major grocery stores (many will close at 11 p.m. on April 21, but check with your local store)
Although all LCBO locations will be closed on Friday some stores will remain open until 9 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. on Thursday. Call 416-365-5900 for details.
Easter parades in the GTA could affect service throughout the GTA. For example, the St. Francis of Assissi Good Friday parade in Little Italy and the Easter Parade in the Beach on Sunday will block traffic on main thoroughfares in those neighbourhoods.
Two malls considered tourist locations will remain open including:
• Eaton Centre (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Good Friday, but closed Easter Sunday)
The Ontario Science Centre will be open on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The Art Gallery of Ontario will be open on Good Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will also be operating on Saturday and Sunday, but will be closed on Easter Monday.
The Royal Ontario Museum will be operating during its normal hours throughout the long weekend. The Harbourfront Centre will be open from noon to 6 p.m. on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
