Don’t want to get stuck in traffic this weekend? Be aware of these road closures and restrictions.

Major routes and expressways:

Lanes on the Gardiner Expressway will be closed in several locations this weekend.

On Sunday, the northbound curb lane at York Street will be closed for the Aga Khan World Partnership Walk and the United Jewish Appeal Walk. Yonge and Bay streets are still accessible.

Both the eastbound and westbound left lanes between Ellis Avenue and Dufferin Street are closed for construction until July 21.

The left and right shoulder of the eastbound and westbound lanes between Park Lawn Road and Humber River are closed for construction until August 20.

Lake Shore Boulevard will also experience closures in a number of locations:

  • The left westbound lane at Parkside Drive is closed on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. until May 27 due to the replacement of power cables.
  • Two eastbound lanes from Jarvis Street to the Don Roadway are closed for repairs to the Gardiner Expressway from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until May 30.
  • The westbound curb lane at Park Lawn Road is closed from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until June 10 for the installation of a natural gas regulation station.
  • Lanes in both directions are closed from Yonge Street to Windermere Avenue for road resurfacing until July 15. Westbound lanes are closed from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastbound lanes are closed from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. One lane is worked on at a time, and two lanes (one in each direction) are worked on as needed between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • The westbound passing lane is closed from Reas Street to Van De Water Crescent until next year for a tunnel installation project.

Subways:

The Yonge-University-Spadina line is experiencing early closures between Eglinton and Finch stations until further notice for tunnel maintenance. Shuttle buses run until the usual end of service. On Saturdays, trains run until regular end-times.

The Bloor-Danforth line will be closed between Woodbine and Kennedy stations on Saturday and Sunday for rail installations. Shuttle buses will run between the stations, and continue on to Pape Station for customers who require accessibility.

Other TTC route diversions:

The southbound lanes of Dufferin Street are closed between College and Queen Streets until November for road and watermain work, diverting the 29 and 329 Dufferin southbound buses. Northbound buses follow their usual routes.

The 31B Greenwood bus is diverted for road and watermain work on Leslie Street until June 22. Stops on Eastern Avenue between Leslie Street and Woodward Avenue will not be served.

The intersection of Warren Crescent and Crosby Avenue in closed until the end of June for road and watermain work, diverting the 55 Warren Park bus.

The intersection of Queen and Leslie streets is closed until June 21, diverting the 501 and 301 Queen streetcars in both directions.

502 and 503 buses will run between Kingston Road, Victoria Park Avenue and Church Street during weekday peak hours, and 501 buses will run between Queen Street East, Kingston Road and Church Street during off-peak hours and weekends.

Customers using public transit on Queen Street East must transfer between streetcars and replacement buses between Church Street and Broadview Avenue or east of Coxwell Avenue.

Track work also diverts the 501 and 301 Queen Street streetcars in both directions on between Church Street and Spadina Avenue. Stops on Queen Street West between Church and Spadina will not be served.

Customers transferring from the 501 streetcar to the Yonge subway must do so at King Station, and those transferring to the University subway must do so at St. Andrew Station.

Closures for events:

The south curb lane of McConnell Avenue from Fenwick Avenue to Carlaw Avenue will be closed Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for parking for the Withrow Park Farmers' Market.

Garden Avenue from Roncesvalles Avenue to Sunnyside Avenue will be closed Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a fundraiser at Garden Avenue Public School.

Wolverleigh Boulevard from Woodington Avenue to Glebemount Avenue will be closed Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a fair at Earl Beatty Public School.

In Scarborough, Borough Drive from Progress Avenue to Triton Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday for the Rouge Valley Centenary Bed Race.

Dupont Street will be closed between Huron Street and 665 Dupont St. from 11 a.m. on Friday to 5 p.m. on Sunday for the Dupont Dig Flower Festival.

There will be several partial and full road closures on Sunday in the downtown core due to the Aga Khan World Partnership Walk and the United Jewish Appeal Walk with Israel.

Closures for the Aga Khan World Partnership Walk will take place from 9 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Streets to be affected include: King Street West from 225 King St. W. to Simcoe Street, all of Simcoe Street, Willington Street West, and University Avenue from Wellington Street West to Queen’s Park.

Closures for the United Jewish Appeal Walk with Israel will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m, and will occur on: Remembrance Drive, Lake Shore Boulevard West, Stadium Road, Queens Quay West, Fort York Boulevard, Bremner Boulevard, York Street, Front Street West, Blue Jays Way, Wellington Street West, Spadina Avenue, Adelaide Street West, Portland Street and Bathurst Street.

"Pedestrian Sundays" start in Kensington Market on May 25, closing roads to vehicle traffic from 12 to 7:30 p.m. Closures will occur on Baldwin Street from the Green P parking exit to August Avenue; Kensington Avenue from Baldwin Street to Dundas Street West; St. Andrew Street from the Green P parking exit to Kensington Avenue; and Augusta Avenue from Dundas Street West to College Street.

The north curb lane from John Street to Simcoe Street will be closed Sunday from 8 p.m. to midnight for Luminato Festival parking until June 19.
