Two weeks after a man was shot and pepper-sprayed, police have charged two men with attempted murder.

Police said an associate of the victim took him behind an apartment building on Paxtonia Boulevard, near Keele Street and Wilson Avenue, at approximately 1:45 p.m. on July 16.

Two other men were waiting, one of whom was armed with a gun, police said. During a subsequent struggle the victim was shot in the groin, then pepper-sprayed in the face by the man who had taken behind the building.

He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and is recovering.

Two men, both 22-years-old, were charged with attempted murder on Tuesday morning. A third suspect is still at large and believed to be in the GTA.

He is described as a black male, five-foot-six, and 145 pounds. He has short hair, brown eyes, and a distinct limp when he walks.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-3106.
