Police in Peel Region have identified a 24-year-old man who died Tuesday night from wounds he suffered during a stabbing in Mississauga over the weekend.

Police say Vittorio Andrew Aiello, of Woodbridge, was stabbed at an apartment building on Acorn Place, near Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street, shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday.

He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

Investigators believe the victim was involved in some sort of verbal altercation before he was stabbed.

Police are searching for four suspects wanted in connection with the case. All are described as black males believed to be between the ages of 16 and 25.

All were dressed in dark clothing and wore disguises, police say.

Homicide investigators will be canvassing the area of the incident as part of their ongoing investigation.
