Police say a man in his 50s suffered serious injuries after he was viciously attacked by a group of men in the west end of the city late Saturday night.
Officials say the man was walking near Jane Street and Woolner Avenue at around 11:50 p.m. when he was attacked by six to seven males.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say initial reports that the man was stabbed were incorrect.
Police are still searching for suspects and are asking anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward.
