Police are searching for two men and a grey Honda Civic after a man in his 20s was fatally stabbed in Pickering in an early morning incident.

Durham Regional Police said the stabbing occurred outside a home on Glenanna Road, in the area of Finch Avenue and Dixie Road, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Police were called to the area when the unidentified victim discovered by a passerby lying in an intersection. The man was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said no arrests have been made, and no suspect description has been released. However, officers said they were looking for a grey, 2004-2006 four-door Honda Civic seen fleeing the scene. Two men were seen in the car heading north from the scene.

Investigators are canvassing the area for witnesses and homeowners with surveillance cameras. They're also speaking to the victim's family members.

Neighbours told reporters on scene that several people were outside overnight after the fireworks, and that there was a house party on the street that broke up at approximately 2 a.m., so there were several people in the neighbourhood at the time of the stabbing.
