Police are searching for up to six suspects in the death of a teen who was attacked and killed in his family's home on Monday night in Mississauga, Ont.

More than a day after Shadi Taleb, 17, died after being taken to hospital with fatal wounds, Peel region police still have not publicly commented on a possible motive.

Taleb's 45-year-old mother was also injured in the attack, which occurred on Monday just after 10:30 p.m. The teen's bloodied body was found outside the home, which is located on Full Moon Circle, near Eglinton Avenue and Highway 403.

On Tuesday night, candles flickered outside the family home as friends and relatives left flowers and other keepsakes at a growing memorial.

"I have to bury my brother at 17," said 21-year-old sibling Mohammad Taleb. He told CTV Toronto's Janice Golding that his brother was a very smart and sweet kid.

"Always wanted to make sure that we were okay, that we were fine," the elder Taleb said.

"He was 17-years-old, he didn't deserve to go like this … He didn't deserve to."

The slain teen, who was in his final year at John Cabot Catholic Secondary School, had just applied to attend a business program at Sheridan College.

He'd also hoped to open his own business one day, those close to him say.

The family was at home when the attack occurred, and the elder Taleb said that those responsible should do the right thing and come forward.

Police believe the suspects fled the scene in a light-coloured, four-door vehicle.

An autopsy is set for Wednesday, but it's not known when the rest results will be made public.
