College station was temporarily bypassed on Monday afternoon after police said they believed a man was badly beaten on a subway car.

Officers arrived on the scene around 1:15 p.m. after an emergency alarm was sounded on the subway station’s northbound platform.

Police located the victim -- whose face was bleeding -- at the collector’s booth. The suspect was seen leaving the station, according to police.

Police said the suspect can be described as a black man in his 30s who is around five-foot-11 inches. He was wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt and black jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
