A dump truck driver has been freed after being stuck in his vehicle for nearly two hours when it became entangled in live power lines on Bayview Avenue.

Shortly after 9 a.m., a dump truck with its bucket extended drove into the wires and became snared, pulling down a hydro pole in the process.

The live wires are still draped over the truck, trapping the driver in the vehicle on Bayview just north of York Mills Road.

Hydro crews responded to the incident, and turned off the power supply so the driver could safely leave his vehicle.

The crews will have to replace the pole and wires brought down in the incident.

No injuries were reported.
