CTV Toronto’s annual Toy Mountain charity drive exceeded its goal and collected 154,050 toys for needy children in the Greater Toronto Area.

Meanwhile, one local woman walked away with a 2015 Ford Mustang, donated by Toronto Area Ford Dealers.

Tom Brown, Weather Anchor for CTV News At Six, thanked all who donated to the campaign this year as he announced the winner of the Mustang and the results of this year’s campaign -- which was attempting to collect 150,000 toys.

“You have made a less fortunate child so very happy on Christmas morning,” he said.

CTV Toronto has been building its Toy Mountain annually for 19 years, so that children from low-income families can have gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Some viewers and sponsors gave money to buy toys. Others brought unwrapped donations to bins around the city.

The toys will be picked up and distributed by the Salvation Army.
