Two teens have been arrested and charged after several people were robbed after responding to ads posted on Kijiji.

Last month, Toronto police said they received reports of several robberies in the Guildcrest Drive area, near Kingston Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

Police said that the victims responded to classified ads posted on Kijiji selling a new iPhone. The victims were told to meet at an address near Guildcrest Drive, usually in the evening.

When the victims arrived, they were robbed of their belongings. According to a police statement issued Thursday, the thieves used several fake email addresses. They also used a website that generates a fake phone number to call victims prior to the robberies, police said.

A 17-year-old was arrested on Dec. 11 and charged with two counts of robbery and five counts of theft under $5,000. On Monday, a second 17-year-old was arrested and charged with the same counts.

The names of the teens cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but police believe there may be more victims.
