Toronto police are investigating the discovery of a human skull in the Weston Road and Humber Boulevard North area.

The skull was discovered by a man walking in a park near Hilldale Road and Symes Road Park Trail Wednesday at around 2 p.m.

The coroner was called to the scene and has confirmed the remains are in fact human.

Other bones were also found near the scene and Toronto police have confirmed that they are human as well.

Area residents said the area is popular with cyclist and dog walkers and said the discovery was troubling.

“It’s disconcerting for sure,” one man told CP24.

Another woman said she’s never noticed any trouble on the trail.

“We walk it all the time and we’ve never had a problem. People are very nice and pleasant,” she said.

Police said the decomposition of the body appears to be advanced as there was no skin on the skull.

They also said there is no reason to believe the discovery is connected to human remains that were found outside a butcher shop near Gerrard Street and Broadview Avenue last week.
