Will there be a skinnamarink slide? A Toronto playground has officially been named after Canadian children's musical trio Sharon, Lois and Bram.

A ceremony to honour the famed singers took place at June Rowlands Park, located at the corner of Davisville Ave. and Mt. Pleasant Rd, on Saturday afternoon.

The group was on-hand for a special performance as the area was renamed the “Sharon, Lois & Bram Playground.”

Sharon Hampson, Lois Ada Lilienstein and Bram Morrison formed the children’s group in Toronto in 1978, and have received three Juno awards for Best Children’s Album.

The group also hosted a popular children’s television program “The Elephant Show” in the early 80s. They’ve also been avid supporters of UNICEF since 1988, and were appointed National Ambassadors by UNICEF Canada in 1989.

Toronto Coun. Josh Matlow had first put forward the proposal to name the playground last summer.

“Like many Torontonians, I grew up listening to Sharon, Lois and Bram, and I invite parents from across the city to introduce their kids to these wonderful entertainers,” Matlow said in a statement earlier this week.

“Naming a children’s playground after the group is a fitting way to recognize their lifelong work as artists and humanitarians.”

Toronto and East York Community Council voted to approve the playground's new name on Jan. 15.
