A Toronto man accused of possessing and accessing child pornography has been arrested in the York area.
On Tuesday, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West.
Police allege an undisclosed quantity of images and videos of children being sexually abused was found at the address.
A suspect identified as 43-year-old Henrique Mateus was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making child pornography available.
He was scheduled to make an appearance in court on Wednesday.
Investigators believe the suspect may have had close contact with children in the York area over the past four years, though they did not provide specifics.
