TORONTO - Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe has aggravated his groin injury and won't play Saturday against the visiting Montreal Impact.

A spokesman for the Major League Soccer club says he doesn't know if Defoe will be able to play in the final game of the regular season at New England on Oct. 25.

Defoe, who has already missed 13 games this season due to injury or suspension, recently spent several weeks in England to rehabilitate his groin injury.

Toronto's playoff hopes are slim.

With two games left to play, Toronto has to win both of its games and hope fifth-place Columbus doesn't get another point.

Defoe's absence won't help that cause as Toronto is already missing star midfielder Michael Bradley and defender Nick Hagglund, who are both suspended for the Montreal game.
