The list of options for late-night slices of greasy pizza in Toronto just got one spot shorter.
The Big Slice, located in the downtown core on Yonge and Gerrard streets, closed its doors on Monday in order to make way for new condominium developments.
“Sorry, due to proposed reconstruction by the landlord we will be closed at this location beginning today 30th May 2016,” a sign posted on the front window at Big Slice reads.
“We will advertise the new location soon.”
The Big Slice is the latest beloved Toronto business to close its doors to make way for property developments. Earlier this month, Bar Volo, a key destination for craft beer on Yonge Street near Wellesley Street, shut its doors after 28 years of business to make way for new condos. In April, a small strip mall at Yonge Street and Helendale Avenue lost several small businesses as developers prepared for a 29-storey condominium.
It was not immediately clear where the new possible location will be located.
