A man in his 20s has died following a shooting in Etobicoke Sunday night.

Toronto police were called to the area of Scarlett Road and Scarlettwood Court, south of Lawrence Avenue, shortly before midnight.

Few details have been provided, but paramedics said the body was found in the driver’s seat of a BMW. Police believe the victim was ambushed by two men and shot to death.

The man was later identified by police as 22-year-old Bryan Agyei of Brampton. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Monday.

The motive for the murder is unclear, but Agyei was known to police.

Neighbours say the victim grew up in the housing complex where the shooting occurred, but later moved to Brampton. Agyei would often return to Scarlettwood Court to visit friends, they said.

In a statement, officers said two suspects were captured on security camera fleeing the scene of the shooting.

Investigators are now reviewing the footage in hopes of identifying the suspects.
