Police are searching for a male suspect in connection with an alleged sexual assault near the University of Guelph-Humber.

Toronto Police say a female reported being assaulted while walking on a footpath along Highway 27, just south of Humber College Boulevard, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a male approached from behind and knocked her to the ground.

Police have not provided the ages of the victim or suspect.

The suspect has been described as a black or brown man who is of average build and approximately 5-foot-6. He had straight hair, and was wearing a yellow, beige or cream coloured T-shirt with dark pants and sandals. He was last seen heading south on the footpath.
