Police have arrested and charged a man wanted in connection with an alleged historic sex assault in Toronto.

Investigators allege the incident occurred in 2008 when a 13-year-old girl went to a private residence in the area of Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue for math tutoring. Between June and September of 2008, she was allegedly sexually assaulted but the tutor.

Police also allege the tutor sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl at the residence between September 2012 and October 2014.

On Monday, Ryan McCombe, 41, was taken into custody.

He is facing multiple charges, including two counts of sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and possessing and making child pornography.

None of the charges against McCombe have been proven in court.

He appeared in court on Monday.
