Police have arrested and charged a suspect wanted in connection with an overnight stabbing in North York that left one man dead and another in hospital.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said the men were injured when a fight between four people at a bar escalated and spilled onto the sidewalk in front.

A 20-year-old man identified by police as Kiowa Wind McComb was stabbed in the neck and chest, while a 23-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen. The older victim ran approximately two blocks north to Merrill and Patika Avenues, where he was found by paramedics.

Both men were rushed to hospital, but McComb died en route.

Police said the suspects got into a cab and left the scene, but officers caught up with the taxi and arrested 35-year-old Andre Appleton. The second suspect had already been dropped off.

Appleton has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.

The charges against him have not been proven in court.

Officers said they have security camera video of the second suspect and are asking the man to turn himself in.
