A huge Mississauga mansion will be up on the auction block later this month.

The 10,500-sq.-ft. mansion has 12 bathrooms, a pool and a tennis court. It has a four-car garage, five bedrooms and nine fireplaces.

It sits on a 2.5-acre lot overlooking the Credit River Ravine, at 2901 Mississauga Rd.

The house was previously identified by a public relations firm as having belonged to television personality Don Cherry, but his lawyer said Cherry has never lived in the house.

Trevor Whiffen told CTVNews.ca that he has been Cherry's personal lawyer since 1988, and has visited him at his home on dozens of occasions.

"At no time has Mr. Cherry owned or occupied the premises in question on Mississauga Road."

A representative of BuzzPR said in a statement that the PR firm received information about the listing from the current owner of the home. The PR firm apologized to Cherry, his family and the media for the error.

The mansion is expected to sell for approximately $8 million at an auction held by Ritchies auctioneers on Sunday, Aug. 17. Also up for auction is a selection of jewellery, designer handbags and a Ferrari 599 GTB.
