Southern Ontario commuters can expect an easier drive home after a morning of nasty weather gave way to clearer skies.
Overnight snow and rain left highways icy across the Greater Toronto Area, leading some school boards to cancel bus service in Caledon and Durham Region.
Driving conditions were especially dangerous north of Toronto, with weather playing a role in several collisions in Aurora and Newmarket.
Skies had cleared by Thursday afternoon and temperatures rose above freezing, clearning roadways of ice and snow.
Environment Canada has cancelled a special weather statement across the Greater Toronto Area, although there remains a chance of afternoon showers.
