Six teenagers have been arrested after a home invasion and assault in Scarborough on Wednesday.

Toronto police say the teens, between the ages of 14 and 16, approached a 21-year-old man while he was riding his bike in the Lawrence Avenue East and Port Union area.

The teenaged boys demanded the man hand over his bike, said police, and when the man fled towards his home, the teens chased him.

Police said the teens forced their way into the man’s home and assaulted him as well as his parents.

Witnesses alerted police, who spotted the suspects close to the apartment building a short time later.

Two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds were charged with robbery and unlawfully entering a home.

One of the 14-year-olds was also charged with assault with a weapon.

Police believe there could be other victims.

The teens appeared in court on Thursday. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
