A male victim in his mid-teens is in hospital after he was shot in the chest near Regent Park Saturday evening.

Police say the victim, who has not been identified, was transported to Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Toronto Paramedic Services previously said the victim was a man in his 20s.

They say the shooting happened in the area of Dundas Street East and River Street at approximately 7 p.m.

Police have not released a description of the suspects in connection with the incident.
