It happened near Taunton and Westney roads shortly before 1 p.m.

Police in Durham Region say a landscaping truck and a car collided at the intersection but provided no further details on how the crash occurred.

Const. George Tudos told CTV News Toronto that the pickup truck was pulling a trailer filled with landscaping equipment at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car, believed to be in his 70s, was airlifted to hospital by ORNGE Air Ambulance.

The occupants of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and were also transported to hospital for treatment.
