Police have released a snippet of security camera video that shows two persons of interest in the city's seventh homicide of 2010.

Tyrell Duffus, 22, had been found shot to death in the stairwell of an apartment building at 20 Falstaff Ave. on Feb. 8. He had lived in the building.

At a Friday news conference, police released six seconds of video that shows two individuals running up four steps -- taking them two at a time -- and exiting through a door.

Det. Mike Carbone of the Toronto Police Service's homicide squad told a Friday news conference that the door exits outside to the building's south. The body was found in the north stairwell.

No firearm is evident in the video.

Both appeared to be wearing dark blue jackets. The first individual has three white stripes on his jacket's right shoulder, along with some other markings. He is apparently wearing a grey hoodie with a ball cap underneath.

The second individual had his hood on. Neither individual looked at the camera.

The video is from 6:44 p.m. Duffus's body was found by another resident at 10:30 p.m., Carbone said.

The detective said while Duffus had some problems earlier in his life, he was trying to turn things around and had been attending school.

"We know his partner was expecting a child, and he was doing whatever he could to support her," he said.
