Major repairs will shut down two Gardiner Expressway ramps for six weeks starting Monday.

The eastbound Bay Street on-ramp and eastbound Jarvis Street off-ramp will be closed at 12:01 a.m. on Sept.10.

Aging beams that support the deck of the ramp will be repaired and some replaced as part of scheduled maintenance, said Gord MacMillan, director of design and construction for the City of Toronto.

MacMillan said this maintenance is part of the city’s 10-year plan to fix-up the busy roadway.

Motorists trying to access Jarvis Street will be required to exit the eastbound Gardiner Expressway by the York/Bay/Yonge off-ramp.
