A section of the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line will be closed during the weekend, and ongoing construction projects on the Gardiner Expressway may cause delays.

TTC closures and diversions

Trains on the Yonge line will be turning back north at Union Station, while trains on the Spadina-University side will be turning around at St. Andrew Station on Saturday and Sunday. Customers who want to transfer from Yonge to University-Spadina, or vice versa, will have to take the 504 King streetcar to travel between stations.

Weekend subway closure

Train service between Eglinton and Finch stations will end just after midnight on Friday and Sunday nights. Shuttle buses will be offered up until 2:12 a.m. northbound and 1:16 a.m. southbound. The replacement buses will stop at Eglinton, Lawrence, York Mills, Sheppard-Yonge and Finch stations.

If the cold weather continues, several streetcars on the 502 Downtowner and 503 Kingston routes will likely be replaced by buses. The weather can cause maintenance issues with the aging fleet of streetcars.

Information on all route diversions is available online.

Gardiner Expressway closures

Two lanes of the westbound Gardiner are occupied all day, every day until Aug. 1, between Spadina Avenue and Park Lawn Road. Eastbound, two lanes will be occupied from Park Lawn Road to the Humber River.

The Gardiner will be reduced to two lanes between Jameson Avenue and Bathurst Street due to ongoing repairs, all day every day until June 1.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be closed from the Canadian National Exhibition grounds to Grand Magazine Street likely until May.
