GO train service was suspended in both directions on the Richmond Hill Line after a fatal incident involving a pedestrian Monday evening.  

The incident happened at around 7:20 p.m. on tracks near Bayview Avenue and Rosedale Valley Road.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the train, Metrolinx said.

An 8 p.m. train that was set to depart from Union Station on the line was cancelled, Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins said.

The train involved in the collision was finally released by police to continue on its way shortly before 9 p.m.
