WHITBY, Ont. - Ontario's Progressive Conservative opposition have named their candidate for the upcoming byelection in the Whitby-Oshawa riding.
PC Leader Patrick Brown announced Saturday that Lorne Coe is the party's candidate.
Coe is currently a regional councillor in Whitby.
The riding was held by high-profile Tory Christine Elliott, who unsuccessfully ran for the party's leadership this year and lost to Brown.
She announced in August that she was leaving provincial politics.
Premier Kathleen Wynne has not yet set a date for the byelection, but her party announced Thursday that their candidate would be Elizabeth Roy.
