Several people are in custody in Toronto, after police there carried out a series of raids in connection to a February murder Thursday morning.

During the raids, police were seen using stun grenades, police dogs and battering rams.

Thanh Tung Phan, 27, is facing a first-degree murder charge and two counts of criminal harassment in the shooting death of 26-year-old Peter Nguyen, Toronto police said in a news release.

The shooting that occurred on Yonge Street, north of Teddington Park Avenue, on Feb. 4 was targeted, police said at the time of the incident.

Nguyen, who was known to police, died of gunshot wounds in hospital.
