More than 20 people were arrested overnight as search warrants were executed in the Durham region, police said.

In a statement released Thursday morning, Durham police said that "a number" of search warrants were issued as part of a guns and drugs investigation nicknamed "Project Wheeler."

More than 20 people were arrested, three guns were seized and a quantity of drugs and cash were apprehended.

Durham police did not offer any additional details, but said more information would be released as it becomes available.
