Police are searching for seven suspects after an early-morning mugging in Toronto's Kensington Market neighbourhood last month.

The robbery happened in the area of Kensington Avenue and St. Andrew Street on June 21 at approximately 2:30 a.m.

According to police, two women lured two men into a nearby alleyway.

"After being lured, approximately five men surrounded the two men and robbed one man of his cellphone, and the other man of his watch," police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police said one man was thrown to the ground and kicked, and the other was slashed across the face with a knife. The suspects then fled the scene.

They are described as:

  • Female, white with long, straight black hair. Police said she was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, white shoes and a black shoulder bag.
  • Female, white with long, black hair. Police said she was last seen wearing a purple University of Toronto sweater with white shoes and a black backpack.
  • Male, black with a slim build. Police said he was last seen wearing a red or white bucket hat, a grey hooded sweater and red pants.
  • Male, black with a slim build. Police said he was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater with a modified Toronto Blue Jays or uzi logo on the front with black pants and shoes.
  • Male, black with a slim build. Police said he was last seen with short hair and was wearing a black open shirt with a red T-shirt with white writing underneath.
  • Male, black with a large build. Police said he was last seen with short hair and a beard, and was wearing a grey sweater with a white undershirt and blue jeans.
  • Male, black who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black baggy jeans and white running shoes.
